ClimAlign Completes EBRD-Funded Energy and Resource Efficiency Assessment in Uzbekistan
September 2025 — ClimAlign is proud to announce the successful completion of a consultancy project commissioned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to assess and enhance energy and resource efficiency practices at industrial facilities operated by JV Angren Glassfiber LLC, JV Angren Insulation LLC, and JV Ecoclimat LLC in Uzbekistan.

The assignment, titled “Energy and Resource Efficiency and Best Available Techniques (BAT) Assessment for Angren / Ecoclimat”, was part of the EBRD’s ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable industrial development and decarbonisation in Central Asia. The project aimed to evaluate current operations, identify potential energy and resource savings, and outline practical measures to improve environmental performance in alignment with EU Best Available Techniques (BAT) standards for the glass manufacturing sector.
As part of the engagement, ClimAlign conducted comprehensive on-site audits covering energy use, water consumption, waste generation, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the Client’s production facilities. The assessment benchmarked operational performance against international best practices and identified a range of feasible investment opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce emissions, and promote circular economy principles.
Key areas of analysis included:
- Energy and resource audits of existing glass wool and glass veil manufacturing lines.
- Benchmarking against the EU BAT Reference Document for Glass Manufacturing.
- Feasibility assessment for renewable energy integration, including rooftop solar PV potential.
- GHG emissions quantification and identification of reduction opportunities across Scopes 1 and 2.
- Development of a detailed roadmap for prioritized investments and decarbonisation actions.
Through this work, ClimAlign provided the EBRD and its client with a structured, data-driven roadmap to guide efficiency improvements, cost savings, and emissions reduction—contributing to Uzbekistan’s broader energy transition and alignment with sustainable industry standards.
The final report, presented to both the EBRD and the Client, includes prioritized recommendations for short-, medium-, and long-term investments, together with detailed cost-benefit analyses, estimated savings, and implementation strategies.
