Tajikistan Green Economy Financing Facility (Tajikistan GEFF)/(Facility) – II is a programme developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to scale up investment in green technologies, resulting in savings in energy, water and materials, deployment of renewable energy, and reduced soil erosion and/or land degradation. The Facility will provide up to USD 50 million funding to participating financial institutions for on-lending to eligible private sector agricultural-, residential- and commercial sub-borrowers for investment in high performance technologies and services supporting Green Economy Transition, in a gender-responsive way.
The Specific Objectives of this contract are as follows:
- GEFF’s main target is to mitigate and adapt to negative impacts of climate change,
- Targets green transition by overcoming market barriers and implementing successful green projects,
- Supports private sectors by providing financial solutions blended with technical assistance to green projects,
- Promote equal access to finance for both women and men-led sub-borrowers.
Main outputs:
- Support the PFI (Participating Financial Institution) in the development of green financial products, including green demonstration projects, specifically targeted at the PFI’s client base and at the PFI’s request. The consultant will assist the PFI in analysing its client base and tailoring green financial products to address long-term green economy investments in Tajikistan’s key sectors, including the private agricultural, residential and commercial sectors.
