The PEEB Cool programme supports 11 partner countries in scaling energy-efficient and climate-resilient buildings through policy support, capacity development, and innovative financing solutions. The assignment focuses on advancing financing expertise within development banks and financial institutions to mobilize capital for low-carbon, climate-resilient building projects.
ClimAlign is contracted to develop and pilot standard training for Development Banks and Financial Institutions to finance resilient and energy-efficient buildings. ClimAlign’s services include the following:
- Designing and developing a modular international training programme on financing resilient and energy-efficient buildings for development banks and financial institutions, aligned with international best practice (GIZ/PEEB toolbox and IFC Sustainable Buildings Finance Guide).
- Creating training materials, including agendas, presentations, practical case studies, exercises, and learning evaluation tools for two core modules:
- Financial viability of energy-efficient buildings
- Supervision and verification of financed green building projects
- Developing inputs for global roll-out strategy, including delivery pathways, institutional partnerships, and a trainer registry.
- Leading pilot training delivery in Addis Ababa for public and private sector financial decision-makers; facilitated discussions and compiled lessons learned.
- Consolidating final training package, incorporating feedback and improvements for global replication across PEEB partner countries.
